Amsoil synthetic oil improves compressor efficiency

According to a local lubrication specialist, the use of high quality, 100 percent synthetic oil in compressors can improve their efficiency.
Amsoil distributor, Enginecare Systems, says lubricants such as Amsoil PC Series Oil has been specially formulated to provide low friction properties that boost operating efficiency and resists viscosity increase from oxidation.
They say the increase in efficiency also saves money by reducing electrical energy consumption. The oil is a long-life, premium compressor lubricant based on novel, proprietary technology.
It incorporates premium grade, thermally stable Polyalphaolefin (PAO) synthetics fortified with premium non-detergent, ashless additives for maximum protection at high temperatures and pressures.
PAO chemistry is the industry's premier base stock technology. Unlike conventional mineral-based chemistries, AMSOIL PAO base stocks contain fully saturated, hydrogenated molecules and are free of wax and other impurities.
The company says it lasts up to eight times longer than petroleum oils, effectively reducing maintenance and waste oil disposal costs. Good foam control reduces heat, oxidation and wear. High contact regions are protected against wear for increased compressor life and efficiency.
AMSOIL PC Series Oil in the appropriate viscosity is recommended for use in single and multi stage rotary screw, vane, centrifugal and reciprocating compressor crankcases and cylinders, vacuum pumps and other applications such as gears, bearings, blowers, pumps and hand- held pneumatic tools.
